The hydrophobic shirt that can never stain. This is the dream for mothers, painters, and even those at an all-you-can-eat chicken wing restaurant- and it’s about to become a large-scale reality.
Silic is a Kickstarter campaign that has been garnering significant hype as of late. Utilizing nanotechnology, this shirt seeks to be the solution to the spray-on-treatments that aren’t as effective. Where the spray on treatments tend to be extremely temporary, the Silic shirt has taken a different approach by embedded the fibres of each string (four-way stretch polyester) with billions of silica particles. It is designed to be washed dozens of times.

Already past its testing phases, the start-up turned to Kickstarter to raise $20,000 and has since surpassed it by reaching $175,000. In order to combine functionality with style, they have recruited a designer that worked on the Vera Wang Collection. At the moment, the shirt will only be offered in white or black.
